need help with these heads!!!!!!!
ok i have a guy at my work that has a set on 350 heads off a third gen camaro. now he is offering me them stock for 100 bucks. i asked him if putting those on my engine (305 TPI with .10 bore over) would help any. he said they would. i ask how much of an increase i could see in HP and he said maybe 20. now a few months ago i was asking another mecheanic at my job and he said not to put 350 heads on a 305. something about to much air or something i cant remember. but him like the other guy both build motors. but i wanted to ask you guys about this so i can get some more information as to if this will really help.
this guy who is selling me the heads also does machine work and can polish, bore, etc. if him doing this was the best way to go what would you suggest on my motor?
thank you guy for reading this.

I thought you could'nt put 350 heads on a 305 because the cylinders were so small diameter the valves hit the block. Im pretty sure I read that somewhere, but Im new to Chevy's so I could'nt swear to it.

You can put 1.94/1.50 valves on a 305, but you shouldnt put 2.02/1.60 valves.
Those 350 heads have 64cc combustion chambers, while your 305 heads have 58cc chambers. You will lose compression ratio which will let your car run on 87 octane, but you will lose torque and power where you need them the most, under 4000 rpms. I wouldnt do it.
