tpi 305 vs tpi350 MPG

starting to build a 305 for my car, forged pistons, ported heads, tpi, crane cam, etc... question before i do start though. With the listed mods, what would be MPG difference between the tpi 305 and tpi 350? Im not going to do much else to the car, it will already have a full exhaust, MSD ignition, etc. Any ideas?

Would have never thought you'd give into all that "just drop a v-8 in for some performance" bs posted on the v6 board...but alas, welcome to the wide world of tpi.

I personally have a tpi 350 w/mods in sig and get horrible mileage (17 mpg), so base that as your low driving in the city the whole tank while burning the tires from light to light number. And no I don't do that. Good luck and best wishes.

Nah, not giving in. was planning a 383 t56 combo since last year, but i dont need that much engine so im probably gonna do a fairly modified tpi305 with a t56.. or just a regular old t5...

Car: Damn
Engine: This
Transmission: New Stuff
I'm getting about 22mph highway and 15 city on my setup with 3.73 gears (kills highway mpg). My old stock 305 with exhaust and a chip got around 17 city the same on highway with the same gearing.
Hopes this helps some.

'88 RS (originally 2.8)
-350, .040 over, vette alum. L98s, stock tpi.
-305 injectors & chip
-TES headers & edelbrock cat back
-3.73 gears, 700r4.
Best with 2.8-17.4@77mph
Best with 305-15.0@93mph
Best with 356-13.7@101mph
on a 2.050 60 ft.
(Damn the 2.8!)

All I can give you is a baseline 'stock' number for a comparison. I just installed a 180 stat, and it runs at 190 degrees now (instead of 220). My last MPG: 250 mile run to Iowa at 80 mph and got 21.5 mpg. 250 mile run back to Minnesota got 22.1 mpg, going at least 80 mph all the way. See my sig for my few minimum mods.
