At what RPM should I set base timing?

 

I set mine at idle, around 800RPM, and it works for me.

 

My car is very shaky setting the timing at idle. It revs high on startup and takes a long time to settle. Still a lot of rattle and vibration after it settles. Surges from 700 to 1100 a lot. Mainly when I drive part throttle and then let off the pedal.

 

clean out your iac and double check your tps setting
