Anyone have adapters for a TPI to old style heads? (2 center bolts)

I'm about to install my Sportsman heads and have driled out the 2 center holes on each side of the intake to accept the angled holes in the heads, but what I need is some kind of spacer/adapter washer which will allow the bolt head to touch the intake flush now that they are angled and not straight down.
I'd rather not machine down the intake thinner at the bolt holes to accomplish this and thought surely somebody makes a spacer to fit already.
Thanks

I had this done to my heads because i got a 85 tpi set up for my 89. I had the guys at the machine shop do all the work on the heads. They did put in an insert in the heads that made it at the right angle to bolt that intake on. So it has been done, just don't know where you would get it to do it your self.

Hey I did that to mine too, all I did was use a little black RTV on the threads tightened them up, and then on the space that was left, put a little RTV there for insurance. I havent had any problems, just make sure after you tighten them the first time you wait like 25 minutes and then go back and retighten them so they dont come loose. Heres a link to my pic,I dont know if you will be able to see it. Its a little messy but it worked!!! http://www.geocities.com/softtailduece01/Dsc00135.jpg

Well, I don't need the work done to the heads, I've already redrilled the holes in the intake to match up to the angled bolt holes in the heads. My problem is that now I have an angled bolt going in a hole on the intake that was originally meant for a straight up and down bolt, so that bolt head surface will not fit flush on the flat intake surface.
JucinGTA, not sure how RTV comes into play to fix this, unless your saying you did not tighten the bolt up to 30ft-lb and left it semi-loose and used the RTV to keep it from leaking?? The pic link did not work for me.

I'm thinking I can get some thick tubing, such as a spacer for header bolts and cut it at an angle to match the angle I need....anyone tried that?

No I tightend it all the way, RTV is just a sealent to prevent any oil from possibly leaking up and causing a tiny mess, thats all!!! U honestly dont need to make that piece it will be fine, if its workin on my engine, it should be fine on yours!!!

Sprayin the **** out of it Racing

If youre concerned about the angle the bolt is on relative to the manifold, a spacer is not going to help the situation. The spacer will still try to slide up the manifold just the same as the bolt would and it will take the bolt with it. The only way around it is to either machine a groove in the manifold or have the spacer have a notch in it that fits into the slot left in the manifold by the old hole.

Making a spacer shouldnt be too hard, then I would grind a small area into the manifold where you want it to fit into so it doesnt slide, otherwise you will really be in the same situation as you are now.
