ok guys i had a whoping 193.7@4450 hp and 270.2 ftlbs of torque at@3200 rpm. i have a 305 with stock heads and stock intake tpi what else do i need? please help. mods are as follows bored .040 over, compucam 2030 cam, .423/.446 lift stock heads, coil, wires, headers and exhaust, air foil, k&n's gutted air box and a stage 4 chip. what else do i need.

Damn, I got them numbers out of a stock 86 peanut cammed 305.
199 @ 4300 and 269 @ 3300.
BONE STOCK!
Guess that cam didn't help or I have a really tight 108,000 mile motor.

mista the 1986 trans am 305 tpi was not detuned like the camero the hp rating was 210 and the tourque was 290 so you can't compare those two cars and also how ddo you no the ta has the peanut cam .also the 86 ta came with those crappy 2;77 gears that why are q-mile are mid 15 lets put 3;42 in it and we would be faster than the 85 iroc and ta they ran high 14.88 bone stock

 

 

my 85 with 80,000+ miles ran a 15.0 @ 91.5 with K&N and catback, otherwise bone stock. Im not sure that the 86 ta had any different cam than the camaro...I would think that it too would have the "peanut cam" but I'm not sure. I do know that I can beat a stock 87 iroc with LB9...dont know if this helps but numbers seem right with the new cam. If you want more power change the heads to World Torquer 305's . I hear they do very well.

Take into consideration too, the variances between dynomometers.

well mista u run a 15.6 in the 1/4 right, i run a 15.1 with 2.73 gears and its an open diff too with an a4. ;P not bad for highway gears? next thing to come is a set of aluminum L98 heads with a stage 3 port job and swirl polished valves, and portmatching the intake. and a better y-pipe cause my old one is peiced together and that could rob alot of power. also the 86 iroc ran a time of what in the 1/4 and with what gears?
