Is too much fuel pressure my problem?!

Im running a 305 tpi, I have a crane Hydraulic roller cam 2032 270/276 452/465 112LS I put in a crane adjustable fuel pressure regulator, i have the screw all the way out and it is hitting the plenum, im at 55lbs at idle. This is giving me hard starts. I cant lower the fuel pressure any more, does anyone have an ideal pressure i should be at? I know this is way too much. Thanks!

Might it be that the check valve in the fuel tank isn't allowing the fuel to come back? Just a guess.

Yeah, sounds way too high. The pressure controls WOT, like bigger jets on a carb. The computer will handle the closed loop injector pulse, as long as it stays below 60? It should maybe be a touch higher than stock at best.
