What kinda1/4 mile times is a stock 89 formula 305 tpi good for?
Hey guys just wondering what kinda 1/4 miles times a good condition stock 89 firebird formula 305 tpi auto is good for? Not too familiar with tpi, i currently have a tbi. Is there a big difference in power?

Yes, the TPI should be 1/2 second to 3/4 second faster. Stock TBI is about 16.2 and an '89 305 TPI automatic should be around 15.5.

wow...thats pretty fast..my 88 mustang gt was 15.6 stock car was auto aswell...but these formys are pretty fast

my stock 89 formula, which came with the g92(aluminum driveshaft, dual cats) and ws6(just handling)...stock 9bolt rear end with stock 3:45 gears and a 5speed did a 14.4 best 1/4, with a 14.9 worst!! first and only car ive taken to the strip

TBI auto should run 16.0-16.2's. The TPI cars are alot quicker. The auto should run 15.2-15.4 and the 5 speed with 3.45's should be 14.9ish.
