I'm not tim, but when he had AS&M semi siamesed LTRs he was running 12.6 @ 108 (? on mph) w/ the comp XR w/ 218/224.
His current cam (230/245) would be way too big for an LTR set up. It would sound good, but never run correctly.

Ed said it. With a CC 218/224 112LSA cam w/ 1.6 rockers I was running 12.5's@108mph. I believe that this setup would have easily gone low 12's with bigger headers and tuning. However, I wanted more. I swapped to the MiniRam and currently have a 230/245 cam and am hoping for 11's. The 230/245 cam is way too friggin big for a long runner type setup.

All Natural. No Force. No Drugs. Stock Bottom End. Stock Body Panels.
Gunning for NA 11's with bigger cam, bigger stall, and bigger exhaust.

How about for a 385 with LTR? I know this intake isn't optimal, but I won't have funds for the SR intake at the time of completion of the motor. Thanks

The problem IMO with an LTR set up is it's restriction of the ability to mover air/make power. A 385 is naturally going to be trying to move a lot of air. Giving it a big cam to support it's desire for air, yet saddling it with an intake that won't feed it that much air is a big mismatch. It will run, but it will be very choked off. If you're sure you're swapping inatkes down the road, then running it for the interim won't hurt you, it just won't be optimal (i.e. it will run slower than if it had an appropriately sized cam)

I'm going to try on my 388 the SLP's fully dug out and the intake siamesed as well with a good porting on the plenum and 58mm tb with 234@.050" duration, tf heads, slp headers. I know a mini-ram would prolly be better, but I already have all the TPI stuff so might as well give it a try and de-tune the runners as much as possible.
