Setting the timing (where is the distributor bolt?)
I can't seem to find it.
Can anybody show me where to look?

if you look at the base of the distributer, there is a bolt that is holding down a plate that is leaning on the distributer shaft. standing at the nose of the car, its exactly to the left of the distributer... that is the bolt they are referring to. loosen that up until you can move the distributer by hand and proceed with your timing changes.
i dug through my pile and found a pic

Well it appears to be that bolt below that spring down there. Managed to bust the spring off. But couldn't get a bendable box end wrench on the bolt. The darn bracket from the coil blocks access.

Gonna have to take the coil bracket apart to get access to the bolt. Why is car stuff never easy?

actually, they make a wrench specifically for doing this... its only 5 bucks and makes life very easy. http://www.autozone.com/R,NONAPP3454...ductDetail.htm
this crap is never like those tv shows... i just got my whole tpi setup rebuilt and ready to go, and found out that 2 or 3 of my injectors stuck open after the first 20 minutes of running... so i gotta tear the damn thing back apart, replace the injectors, and try again. don't see that on Horsepower tv. those dudes never get dirty either... freakin amazing

I owe you a beer after seeing the link to that $5 wrench.
Especially after I just dropped $70 on a set of bendable open end wrenches. (Granted they are nice).
I wholeheartedly agree with you about those TV shows. And isn't it amazing how many "old spare parts" they have kicking around their garages? "We had this 12 bolt rear end and cross ram setup sitting in the corner. So we thought we'd put it to use for our '69 Camaro buildup." Uh huh. Sure.
Even seeing your picture, it definitely showed me where the bolt was. But it looks so much easier to find in your car. Seemingly simple things like this make me miss my old Sunbird. Distributor was in the front of the engine. No AIR hoses or lines to get in the way of setting the timing or changing plugs. The thermostat in that car was underneath the radiator cap. Simplicity at it's finest.

lol... mine appears easier because what you don't see is my entire tpi setup in a pile on the ground next to the car... that and my coil is off, and that egr selenoid is just laying there. that intake got yanked and replaced with an edelbrock intake, edlebrock runners, etc. but even with everything on, it is fairly easy to get that wrench onto that bolt to do the timing adjustments.

HP TV
They dropped the front frame to pull the motor, car/body was hoisted up off the front suspension/engine assembly. During the reinstall the guy talking said his buddy hooked up all the wires/connectors, and had a little challenge with it. Oh yea, that was last week, and took all week, but they didn't tell/show you that.
