Siameseing stock runners,plenum and base

I plan on siameseing my stock runners, so that they are siamese from top to bottom.

1.Can i do this by cutting out the centers using the outer half of the tubes, and welding aluminum across the centers so they will be very similiar to the SLP`s only with no divider

2.Has anyone seen this done before? any ideas of problems i may run into?

I am building a 406 small block, with world products motown 220 cyl heads and 52mm TB custom prom and 30lb injectors ,and i am siamesing the complete tpi from : plenum/runners/until 5 inches into the base greatly shortening the runner length.

any suggestions on what cam to use on this setup?

I know this is long but i have been thinking about this for awhile and have finally the resources to do it.. thanks very much

I was talking to a welder and he said the hardest part would be welding it without warping the bend. He said aluminum is prone to bending on long straight welds and thats why 99% of the welds you see on thin aluminum are tack/spot welded. If you do this it may warp the curve of the tubes and you wont be ablr to bolt them back on. Just buy a set from SLP they go on sale often.

welding aluminum isnt very easy, most of the time the welder is too hot. however it is possible if you are experienced enough.
