Miniram w/ aftermarket heads??

what are some good heads to put on a
350 w/ a miniram on top,LT4 "hot cam",DFI,SVO 24# injectors,.
what are some aluminum heads that would match up to a 85% street car that i want to run low 12's in the next 1 1/2 years.

TIA,

I would go with the AFR 195 heads.

The Trick Flow 23-degree heads are cheaper and flow almost as good (or nearly the same) as the AFR's, but are several hundred dollars cheaper. GM HTP mag tested several heads recently, but they used the ones w/out the CNC ported combustion chambers. These heads are fully emissions legal (EGR ports, etc.) and have angled plugs for better spark plug access with headers. You can get them with 1.25" or 1.47" springs that can handle .520" or .540" lift, respectively. Just MHO...

What about the Edelbrock 6085 heads, wouldn't those work?

Sure they'd work, but not as good as the Trick Flow or AFR heads. They have much-smaller intake ports and flow a good bit less air. You could have them ported out to match the other heads, but then you'd end up spending more money than if you just bought the TF or AFR heads...

Im running the Tick Flow 23* heads with my Mini-ram and ZZ9 cam. I wish I went with one of Comp Cams grinds. I think the ZZ9 is a little small for my set-up. Plus it was like 100 bucks more. Oh well....live and learn.

Trick flow heads are trash. They don't even have bronze valve guides! Sure they flow the number, but they won't do it for very long. I have heard lots of nightmares about the Trick Flows. AFR 190's are the same as the 195's, they flow the same, look the same, same components. 195's are just matched to the victor Jr. intake. I don't know what the intake runner on the miniram is, but I'd go with the 190's if you have the money.

Personally, I didn't have the money, so I went with the Dart Iron Eagles. My reason being that with the expansion rate of cast iron and aluminum, there are sometimes sealing problems. Also, it is much easier to warp aluminum if your car gets a little too hot while driving on the steet. Aluminum threads can strip out much easier. There are also compression ratio issues because aluminum disapates heat faster than cast iron, which is why many people subtract a point from the static compression ratio with aluminum heads. This makes the science of compression ratio calculation a little more sketchy.

I'm running a 383 with AFR 190's and a MiniRam. Great combination. Two weeks ago I ran 11.61@117.5 on street tires and full exhaust including cats!

Since your using just a 350, I would go with the AFR 190s, not 195s. The 195s would probably shift the power band too high for the displacement you have. You could also look at the 180s and just have them ported out, it will give you more low end.
