vette compression ratio

is it safe to assume that vette's have a higher c/r because of the smaller cc aluminum heads. being the bottom end other than the fact all vetts are 4 bolt mains are the same as a f-bodies?

I'd say yes, except the part about the 4 bolt mains. I think most agree that they are all 2 bolt mains except for maybe a few factory freaks.

The Corvette has approximately the same compression ratio as the f-body because they run a head gasket that has a compressed thickness of .050. The f-body has a compressed thickness of .025. I believe all vette's with the L-98 have two bolt mains.

when i traded an l99(impala motor) engine for a mint 88 vette engine i noticed it had 4 bolt mains whether it was a factory replacement block or a special i dont know but if there was one there must be many more like it.normal sbc head gaskets are .041 compressed gm does make a factory replacement gasket that has a compressed thickness of .027 as far as i know they were the only head gasket sizes from gm at that time

all L98's be it a B2L or a vette L98 is a 2 bolt main motor. ive had the oilpan off of my stock 88 vette motor and it is a 2 bolt main. the ONLY vette L98 engine to be a 4 bolt main is the callaway twin turbo RPO B2K.
