I was wondering do MAF sensors work on different year engines. Mine is a 85 but have been told late 80's MAF will work. Any info is appreciated.

 

Anybody have any info on this. Really need to change mine would like to know what I could use. Thanks, ed...

 

86-89 is the same MAF.

If you got an 1985 camaro you have to use an 1985 MAF because those used a different MAF sensor

 

I have used the 86 up sensor without a problem. What I have been using for about 2 years now.

 

According to TpiParts 85 used and different MAF, they only sell 86-89 (style one)..

You have an 85, you havent change out the engine... its wierd if tpiparts dont sell the 86-89 one to 85s to.... if it works.. something has to be different orelse they had to sell it..

 

Thanks for your input. I have been told not much difference between the years. Even been told runs better. I might try one if I can get my hands on one. Seems hard to find a used one out there. Thanks I appeciate all your help.
