Does my ecm need programming?

I removed the AIR system, Smog Pump and Blocked EGR.
Now the engine runs to rich, smokes and is undriveable.
Does the ECM need reprogramming due to the different vacum set up due to AIR being removed?
Should the emmisions input pipe be left open or be blocked wich is the pipe just behind the TPS sensor at front of the throttle body.

Hope you guys can help this problem is driving me mad...

the evap canister didn't need to be removed... you have vacuum leaks and have messed up your tank vent circuit. plug the vacuum line that went to the egr selenoid. re assemble the evap canister/fuel tank pressure system (the lower of the 2 ports behind the tps sensor is what goes to this) and yes, having pulled your egr off will require you have an upgraded prom.

when you pulled your tpi system off to strip the egr, did you use new gaskets? if not, there's a good chance you have some vacuum leaks between the runners and the plenum/manifold.

and on a side note the air rig has nothing to do with your vacuum system

The tank vent circuit is fine. You don't need the evap canister. It doesn't hurt to have though.
You don't even need the solenoid. Just vent the hard line coming from the tank to atmosphere inside your fender.
Removing EGR does require minor programming to disable it from the prom.
Just plug the port on the TB.
Definitely look for vacuum leaks.
Removing the AIR system does not require any programming.

Re: Does my ecm need programming?

Okay i checked the petrol tank and apart from the main line and return line there is a third line running up to the front it has never been connected.

I have not connected a O2 sensor up yet as this problem is from cold and it has never been connected and does not show any error codes related to the 02.

I did block the pipe going to the TB it slows the idle down when its blocked.

Its funny that when the engine is running and its puffing out smoke if you disconnect the MAP the engine changes completly and stops smoking yet will not rev properly.

I have posted a few helps for this problem.

What can be the problem why does it run so so rich and flood itself if you let it stall.

I am no mechanic but have checked and read for weeks about tpi's.

Ive changed items such as ECM,MAP,IAC,Ignition module,Dis cap, rotor arm, plugs, leads,Temp sensor, Checked every wire and plug, new fuel, new oil, new battery, new grounds on engine, Checked injectors and had cleaned, cleaned out TB added a fuel regulator, checked fuel pressure, etc

Im Trying...

Could it be the MAT or maybe a faulty chip?

Once the engine is dried out from flooding it will start and idle, It puffs smoke out with a fuel smell, It revs like its missing on some cylinders, and will stall if you let it idle to long at this point it will not start untill you unflood it by unplugging fuel relay or injectors or clean all plugs.

Thanks all help guys i hope you feel my pain...
