How much oil?
How much oil?
I know this sounds retarded, but how much oil do you guys put in your 350? I'm confused because my original dipstick shows full at 3qts, which can't be enough. The Lokar shows full at 4qts, which is how much I'm using now. The handbook says to use 5qts, which seems to be too much. I thought they used 4.5qts. Am I just going crazy? Help me out. I changed the oil and filter last night and I'm running on 4qts of Mobil1 5W-30.
Thanks, Are your dipsticks accurate, or do they read full after 3qts like mine does? Its the original dipstick, not the wrong one from another car. Also, I get a puff of blue smoke when I start the car if I use 5qts. It did not do that until after I changed the oil the first time, so I thought I just used too much oil. This is only the second time I've changed the oil since it has sat in my garage for an entire year. It does not smoke with 4qts.
mine reads full with 5.5 qts in.. hmmm stupid chiltons book. but i still think it looks like its mroe then just half a qt. make sure ur checking both sides, when mine starts to go down, one side will read about half an inch higher then the other.

I use 5 as do most.... but I dont see how 5.5 could hurt
