How to bypass the knock sensor?
I have a 400 sbc w/tpi and want to bypass the knock sensor. My motor harmonics is way different than stock also.Remove it from the block and keep it pluged in?Is there a better way?I did work with cars before knock sensors. So I'm not scared to bypass it.From what I understand there is no knock sensor for a 400.
The onyl way to bypass it is to take the wire that goes to the knock sensor and ground it THROUGH a 3.9Kohm resistor. You can find one at Radio Shack for 10 cents.

the above is fine, but you will need to have
the chips advance curve redone. to dependent
on the knock sensor being there. plus remove
the knock sensor diagnostics. and be careful
on WOT passes. you probably will have underlying detonation. start low on the curve
and work upwards.
been there and bought a couple of pistons and
ring sets.
