not thirdgen but TPI problem
My family's second car is a 1993 Delta 88. It has the 3.8 tuned port motor in it. It is running horrible:
It has no power at all. At part throttle while cruising it will cut out slightly enough to kind of throw your head forward a little. It seems to be faster at 3/4 throttle as opposed to full.
I started working on it but it's not throwing a code so I am lost. We changed out the catalytic converter, but that didn't help. I took out the MAF sensor and saw that one of the metal pins on it were burned so I was sure that was it, but nope (BTW it was $175, non-returnable). It has not had plug wires in about 90,000 miles. Do you think that could be the problem? If not, what else could it be?
Any help and ideas is really appreciated.
Thanks.

spend $60-80 at a dealership to diagnosis
this one. unless you have a scanner, service
manual, and time... youll spend more $$$ to
find out a $4 fuel filter was the culprit.
get a written estimate and do the labor your
self. you are already out $200 + cat.
those cars had DIS (distrutorless) and some
had one coil ($180) or three coils ($58ea)
youd be surprise how much you can pile up on
the parts and still have it maybe more messed up...
