I have an 84 TA which I put an 87 TPI unit on.

Thing used to run until I started messin with chip burning now it wont start.

I have spark and fuel pressure but it wont fire it wont even sputter or pop
it does exactly nothing yet it ran fine before I messed with the chip.

I put the ABWN memcal back in and it still wont do nothin.

COULD THIS BE VATS RELATED?

How can I verify if VATS is disabled? Does VATSeven have anything to do with my set up since it is not factory?

if your the ecm is 87 (same as the TPI your using) then it's not VATS.

VATS was not in existnece in 87

 

Sounds like a bad burn. You might have a 256 chip, in which case you need to stack the bin or burn from the right address. I ran into the same issue on my 86. Check the chip and see if its a 128 or 256.

Thats an 87 code, there was no VATS in the 87 code.

 

I was hoping that was it. Guess I am no further in along in my search!
