what gains can i expect
im getting rid of my 305 after a long debate on keeping it or not. im getting a 350 put in. now here is what i want to do. i want to keep the bottom end stock. i wanted to put an lt1 cam in it, and after a long talk with a guy at my job he suggested to put a hot cam and rework the heads. i think he said to have the guides grinded down. so i am sure that i will do that. and just build the heads and change the cam and that sounds like the best bang for my buck right now. i just want to get the motor in and running but while it out i wanted to put the cam in. but if i can get the heads worked. i would love to do that. now here is what im getting and what i have available funds wise. im getting the block with internals for 400. im selling my block with internals for no less that 200 so i would have 200 for that and i can scrounge up a little pocked money here and there. im using my tax return to get the motor and hoping to sell the other block and get some other stuff so in total im expecting between 600 and 700 without using pocket money. so any advise would help and would be nice. but i would love to knwo what these alone will get me.
oh and if anybody has some videos of what their car sounds like with an lt1 cam and worked headed can you post a link to it. i want to see what a sound difference it makes and what it sound like. and also what will my fuel economy be.

Sounds like we are in the same boat, but I opted for full exhaust first. You're probably the smart one because it would be much easier to do exhaust later than it would the cam and heads. But I really have no plans for cam and heads right now.
Tell you what ... get your setup done and I'll do mine, then we'll compare ET's. That would be interesting.

Nice. I'd still like to compare HP or ETs, though. I'd like to see how much difference your mods make. I'm in a Pontiac club here in NC and we have strip days sometimes and dyno days sometimes. I don't know when the next one is, though.
