converting to tpi ?s
I pulled the 305 tpi out of my 89formula and im thinking about putting it in my 91 s10, 4 cylinder 5 speed, and using the tpi and the factory 5 speed. Never done this before so need some info.

buy the jagsthatrun.com book on TBI & TPI, and maybe their S10 book.
I am not familiar with the S10 platform, but I believe it involves motor mounts (which Hooker may make also) and headers, and the usual wiring BS. Grab a tank & sending unit from an EFI trick (preferably a multi port one so you can use the pump.)
You will very likely want to go to the V8 T5 instead of the V6 one for strength reasons.

86LB9 TPI atop the original L69, Hooker emissions legal PN 2050 headers, stock L69 cat (yes, a real one), hydraulic clutch T5, Energizer 272 cam, chargedair.com fan, Global West CNR-88-C negative roll kit, 89 Iroc front springs, CC635 Moog rear springs and a whole bunch of other fun stuff

S10 platform = good
My father has a 305tpi in his S10, it will roast the tire for days even if its still slow, torque = good.
You'll run into some issues when doing the swap. Since your running a MAF system the ducting gets in the way, so you'll need to fab up some duct work for the MAF system(maybe use the formula air duct?) or you could convert the TPI over to Speed Density.
Motor mounts and the usual electric stuff are about the only problems I can think of

your trans will not take much goosing. you
may want to look into a trans option too.
most S-10 swap go the LT1 because of the fire
wall clearance of the TPI is so close.
weve sold many S-10/LT1 swap harnesses.
