i found out that i dont have the power steering pump but i have the brackets for my 87' 305 TPI, can i use the power steering pump off of my 3.1 92' camaro motor. is it interchangable?????????????????

 

I would think so but easiest way to tell is go to your local parts store, see i fthe part #'s are the same if so then there is your answer if not see if they have both in stock and see what the difference is. Some times its not enough to matter at all. Also from what I have read about the pumps that have the rexervoir on them like yours is then the internals are all the same so it will work no problem.

i tried that and the store had to order the power steering pumps for both years. So i couldnt match them. Anyone else possibly know about this??????????

I don't know for sure, I doubt it without being able to look at the 3.1 PS pump itself. The 92 had serpentine belts and the 87 had vbelts, so that may be a problem. Along with the pump being from a v6 and wanting to use it on a v8... its hard to say.
