305 vs 350

The 305 is a strong motor but it dosent compare to the 350 at all!!!!!!! For instance my camaro went a 13.8 at the track and its bone stock w/ 40,oook my friends camaro went the best of 15.4 and its a 305 and is a fresh rebuild so i think that the 350 is just a better over all motor

I feel sorry for your friend that spent the money to rebuild his 305.

What "Bone stock" 350 is running 13.8's? An LS1?

Past Thirdgen:
86 Trans Am w/ built 355TPI with SLP goodies and too much other stuff to List. One sweet *** car, wish I would have had a good enough Job to pay insurance on three cars so I could keep it, but for a 89 Turbo Trans Am w/ Low miles, I think I made the right choice!

if you have an ls1 an are only running 13.8's you're behind the curve a bit,but i get your point.

i pity your driving skills if that 13.8 came from a LS1

and if it IS a LS1 or even a LT1 u can't compare them to a 305. Its like comparing a Geo Metro to a ZO6..

I'm sorry, but i'm shutting this post. As frosty said, it's just asking for a flame war. I'm sorruy your friend has something wrong with his car, but lots of 305s run a lot faster than 15.4. My heavy 305 convertible w/ 2.73s ran 15.1 @ 90.6 stock and runs 14.7 @ 93.6 with nothing. Bolt on 305 cars have run mid 13s.
The point is, there is no point. Yes the 350 will always be faster given the same stuff, but depending on all sorts of stuff, the difference can be small. If you have a 305 car you can mod it and get well into the 13s w/o having to go too crazy. If you want to go past that you should probably look for more inches.
