3.9K or 100K resistor in place of KNOCK SENSOR?
I have an 89 305, TPI, 5 spd, 3.08 rear.
I do not know the number of my ECM. For that car should I be using 3.9k or 100k resistor?
I do not want ot blow anything up.
Does anybody know?

The only way to really find out is to measure it yourself. Buy or borrow a DVM, lay under the pass. side of the car, unplug the knock sensor connector, stick one probe into the middle of the sensor, touch the other probe to your engine block, look at DVM, observe reading (you might have to change the ohm scale to read it right). Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes. Oh, you'll need to jack up your car or drive the front up on jackstands.

Or unplug the EST connector, use the manual to figure out which wire goes to the KS and measure between that terminal and ground. A lot easier than jacking the car up!

My 86 Vette takes a 3.9K 5 watt resistor and with wire color to splice it into is colored blue.
