im planning on building a fairly mild 383, the question is will the stock L98 injectors cut it if i bump up the fuel presure.

if they wont work i need to sell them, 4 out of the 8 have less than 1,000 on them.

I am new to the whole high-displacement TPI thing, I used to drive a jap car. . . but my brother has been playing with big engines for a while, and I am building the same motor, he told me I am gunna have to go to at least 24lb/hr injectors over the stock 19's. Jeg's sells a set of accell injectors for $250, but when other comanies sell them for 50 a pop, U kinda need to wonder. I am gunna gunna go with 30lb injectors and a higher flow pump cuz I am getting a nitrous kit in the spring, but 24lb should be good for you if you are going to stay completely self-breathing.

Depends on how far you want to go with it and how much power you are looking to make. The stock 22's should feed up to 350hp with no problem, beyond that you would need to see if the pulse width is too wide or not.

22 lb injectors are probably on the "light" side.If you turn up the fuel pressure (increasing the injectors duty cycle)you will shorten its life.Injectors run at 80% duty cycle,it's possible to hold the injector open up to and including 100%,but again, you will shorten its life span.It is better to step up to the next size injector. Here is a formula to figure out injector size. (Engine H.P. X BSFC) divided by (# of injectors X 0.8) NOTE: BSFC=Brake Specific Fuel Consumption.A realistic number for an average street engine is .50 NOTE:0.8 is 80% duty cycle. Hope this helps.

I'm using LT1 24# injectors on my slightly modified 350 so I would have to say that for the best performance you're going to need something more than 22# injectors for that 383. Depending on how much you plan to mod the 383 you might look into 30# injectors. When in doubt get a scan tool. Start with whatever size injectors like 24# and use a scan tool and you should be able to figure out from there if you are maxing the injectors out.

If this is a street car, the 22lbs injectors will work fine. If you're going to race it a lot, forget them and get 24lbs. I found with my 350 the 22lbs were on the very edge, so I got 24lbs.
