i own a 1988 iroc its mostly stcok except for a 3 inch exhaust k&n airfilters and a chip . i was wondering what type and size cam should i put in it to get a bit more horse power and how much would i get and how much would the sound and idle in the motor change?

 

What size motor? Auto Stick? Rearend Gears?

 

Its a 350 tpi with a 700r4 with a stage 2 shift kit and 2.77 limited slip i hope to change the rear end.

 

the cam choice is dependent on what you plan to
use the car.
if your going to use it as a daily driver, not
wanting to do more than replace the cam
the lpe 219/219 is a good choice. youll have to rechip
and you can add on (runners, manifold, etc)
later.
if you have a plaything, the field is wide open
match cam with compression and cylinder head
flow.

but for good gains keep the duration under
220@.050" or you going to have to do some
major other things to take full advantage of
the cam.
