lt1 heads
Ok I am just curious about the lt1 head and interchangability Will this work on a 327. Is there a special manifold? Do they bolt to the block? I am running a carb setup to. If this will work will I get any realy performance out of them? Or should I just buy a nice set up aftermarkets

I'm sure someone will correct me, but NO you can't use them. I believe the block for LT1s is a different block (gen2) vs. gen1 blocks '55 to present. Anyways, yes you would need a special intake for LT1 heads. The coolant flow direction is different as well as the blot pattern. Hopefully someone else will answer better, but there are a lot of problems trying to swap lt1 heads to a 1st gen block.
I do however think there is a carb manifold that bolts up to LT1 heads, so if you could get a whole LT1 long block...

you can use them but the cost of preparing them to work will more than enough pay for a good aftermarket set of heads.....
