Like madmax said no chance on the LS1... the LT1 also use a completely different water pump and distibutor mounting, they are also reverse cooling which would probably cause a bunch of headachs... not worth it IMO.

You can always get an aluminum block that will fit directly. I believe Scoggin Dickey sells them....theyre hella expensive though.

If you can find it, pick up an issue of Car Craft entitled "everything you always wanted to know about the chevy small block" (or something like that). But just in case you can't I will give you a preview. Assuming you are not swapping parts between the different generation engines, the LT-1 will take a .030" overbore. The cylinder walls aren't thicker for anything else, though LT-1's (generation 2) and '92 and under blocks (generation 1) are cast iron (not steel...steel is an alloy). Also, I believe Pat Musi (could be wrong on the name) did a hop up of an LS-1 (generation 3) and all he could manage as far as an overborebore on the aluminum LS-1 was .010". Reason probably being that the aluminum block utilizes an iron sleeve in the bores. He did stroke that engine though for 381-2 inches. That thing was awesome.

LS1s can be resleeved to allow larger overboring than .010" . Agostino Racing Engines has gotten LS1s out to 430 cubes with resleeving, boring, and off-set grinding the crank.
