Recommendations from the gurus (you guys!) on scanner purchase?????
Posted this once before, figure maybe since my TPI406 is in a K5 BLAZER you didn't want to recognize me........lol. Anyway, want a handheld scanner to check engine status, not just a code reader. I get an intermittent problem when the engine is warm as tho the motor is starving for fuel or something like that and can't figure it out. It comes and goes, rarely even shows up, so figure I need to check the key components WHEN it does happen. My engine builder/TPI guru's Snap On unit is nice but lord I can only imagine how spendy it is. So I have heard the Auto Xray 240 is a good unit......any other ideas? Costs?
Thanks very much in advance.

blazinor,
someone has a used one on the corvette forum
$130 + shipping.
i just bought one $105 shipped from z28.com.
the auto xray is probably the easiest and more
extensive without blowing major dollars.
IMHO
airdeano

To the top - new info - AutoXRay has discontinued the XP240 but has a new replacement part # 10110. Any of you guys using this with the laptop software?

Check the PROM Board, I think someone has software to use a laptop..price is free for the SW.
Check EBAY for older scanners...I've seen SnapOn MT2500's go for 300 bucks with older cartridges. Also, OTC's for 100.00 bucks, guess it depends on who's bidding.
