Stainless TPI bolt sets

I know some of you guys have these and am wondering which style of bolts are better. Button Head or socket head? What type of socket or bits do each of these fasteners accept? Please tell me what you have and whether or not you like your choice. I guess I'm also wondering which style is the easier to work with and if the button head type seems easier to strip out. If you have any pics of your motor with this bolt kit equipped, please feel free to post a pic so I can see what it looks like. Thanks. Joe.

I've got those darn torx heads on mine now and I am going to socket bolts next. You can always sneak an open end wrench on a socket head bolt in a pinch. Stainless sets available on e-bay for a good price.

I got the stainless button head set from that wolfgang guy on ebay (the most common seller of these) and they are complete junk. If they are stainless they're made of some kind of chinesium steel. I managed to partially round EVERY single one of them without even getting a decent amount of torque into them. They are all going in the trash next time i take my intake apart, if not sooner if they come loose on me.

Maye the socket head is slighly more substantial and wouldn't be quite as weak, but he does not deal in quality american hardware.

I am slowly replacing the torx bolts you can see with stainless cap head bolts (allen key style). I just picked them up from a local nut and bolt place. M8's usually, varying length. They look nice, especially with a polished TPI. The black head bolts tend to catch you eye, with the smooth stainless you can't see them.

For the lower intake, go for a hex head. IT seems the GM bolts ALWAYS come loose. At least you can get a wrench on them to tighten.

As far as good or bad stainless, I am not sure. My experience is that stainless bolts are damn hard. Perhaps there is a cheap line of plated bolts.

Check out your local nut and bolt store. They can get them and usually they are not that expensive.

Mark.
