well waht do u have? a 350 chip for a 305 would WORK, but the car wouldn't run great. Now if u DO have a 350, and used a 350/auto chip it would work, though u MIGHT get a SES light since u won't have a torque converter...i'm sure someone else can provide more info, post this on the prom burning board as well, they'll be able to give an exact answer

EDIT: I re-read your post, u DO have a 350 in there, lol..don't mind me i'm a moron . A 350/auto chip will work, but again the prom burners would be able to answer any in depth questions you will have

BottledZr28,

I have a 350/5 speed and have had no problem with the automatic chips. Currently I have an SLP chip for the 350 automatic and it works just fine. I even called fastchip and they said thier auto chip would work fine. (The stocker worked good to - no ses light)

The IAC controls are different between the auto and manual chips. You may notice a strang idle and awkardness when pulling away from a stop. But nothing that would make the car undrivable by any means, just get yourself the correct chip down the road.

If you run an auto BIN on a manual, you won't get an SES light since the ECM does not confirm that the TCC is locked. That's the good news.

But you don't get the shift light, nor is the spark curve optimal. On the DIY PROM Board, we recommend starting with a 305 MANUAL Bin, and then adjusting the Injector Size (MAF or SD) and the Cylinder Volume Size (SD only).

MAF cars are only concerned about air flow, so you only have to adjust for the size of injectors you are using. With SD you have to tell the eprom the engine size so it will calculate the proper amount of fuel. With the eprom burning equipment, it's a 10 minute change.

And you can't use a Corvette SD Memcal on an F-body as it has a sensor for the Oil Temp (which the F-body doesn't) and it will throw and SES code.

Instead of BUYING an eprom, why not just burn it yourself. The initial cost is about the same as buying a custom eprom AND you can further optimize it beyond any custom eprom you can buy.

i can not burm my own chip due to the fact that I do not have the equipment needed to do it. I am in the market for a laptop and will soon get the proper software to monitor my cars ECM readings.
