HELP! my car is on the side of the road!
I was driving home from my lunch break and my tach fluttered a little when I stepped on it and when I took my foot off the gas the needle hit zero and the car will not start. Whats up. Could this be an Ignition module failure? I pulled a spark plug wire and put it on a strut tower bolt to see if I was getting a spark when I turned the engine over and NOTHING. Anyone ever heard of this.-88 formula 350.

Could be any distributor part failure, even the coil. If you had a known good coil that would be the first thing i'd check (cuz i have a spare coil, lol)
Not much help, i know i'm tired, but someone should chime in with some help on testing procedures for the pick-up and module.

Ignition module sounds like a calprit, although, I had the SAME problem. Turns out that my MSD box was junk(don't know if that applies to you though). As always, if you do have an extra coil that is the first thing(easier to test a good coil than rip the distro out to find out that wasn't the problem).

Whenever you see the tach acting weird, it is 99% certain that it's the ignition module.
the other 1% is the ESC, coil or other unlikely part of the ignition system...
