Oil in water (possibly) ... but I'm still holding 45psi oil pressure????

Ok, I just started up my new engine today for the first time, oil pressure guage said 45psi oil pressure but it appears there's water in the oil. The oil that came up through the heads looks a little runny so I pull the oil dipstick and the oil on there isn't real runny but has just a very very very light milky streak in it. I'm positive the block isn't cracked and I'm pretty sure the heads aren't cracked but not positive. Also at one point in filling up the radiator with water, I noticed that I left the hose to the thermostat housing undone and hanging right over the freaking head. It appeared some water got on the head but it didn't look like much. Is it possible more water than I thought got on there and just drained into the oil drain back holes?? The oil has to be changed after I break the cam in so do you think it'll be ok to run what's in there to break in the cam... as long as I'm holding 45 psi that is??? I really hope these heads aren't cracked.

If you suspect water in the oil, Change it!

No sense running a new engine with oil that is less than perfect. Oil is cheap.

If after you change the oil, you find more water in the oil, then you need to find out where it is comming from. I had water leak in the oil from the intake to cylinder head gaskets on a couple of engines.

Thanks... I did change the oil as suggested and put new oil in. I ran it again, longer than before, and the oil looks much better. I'm sure there's still a small amount of water in there because you can't get it ALL out on one oil change but the oil pressure is holding 60psi now as where it was holding 45psi before. Also, this oil is only going to be in there for another 10-15 minutes of running time for the cam break in and then the oil will be changed again which will surely clean up any additional water that may have been hiding in the engine.
