ignition cap with one corroded post causing problems?
I changed my wires yesterday to try to fix a slightly bumpy idle I have on my 305 and noticed that the post for the #7 cylinder (driver side rear) was corroded really green (must be copper). I sanded it and put the new wires on.
I just repaced this cap and rotor this past august -- could this be causing some problems. at least this might be an indication of a bad spark to that cylinder right??
I will hook up the timing light to it to check it out today.

K&N,Air foil,hypertech chip, thermostat+fanswitch
free mods, dynomax catback, urethane motor+trans mounts, PST front end poly stuff, Earl's hyperflex brake lines SSM SFCs, Bilsteins very trick homemade ramair, Accel 300+ ignition system. Ported plenum, intake and heads with 1.94I valves.
Planning: Heddman 1-5/8 longtubes, NOS 150 plate, replace the "peanut"! and Eibach Sportlines.

i would have to say yes... a corroded post will cause problems. ie weak spark or no spark. i would take off the cap to check it and make sure there is no corrosion in there either. good luck
