Can i remove the A/C Compressor AND smog pump from an 88 305 TPI Motor. I am rebuilding an 88 trans am with a 305 motor, it has the serpentine setup and I dont see it possible to remove both the a/c and the smog pump. i am wondering if anyone has done this. id like information if possible.. email me or post here i will be checking it every 10 mins or so. thanks

 

I have done this and you will be able to too!

just get rid of the smog stuff as per the tech sections on this website and then order an AC delete pulley from your local GM dealer. you may then remove your AC compressor and presto -- no AC or smog stuff. of course the hard part is finding a non AC heater shroud so you can clean up the firewall but I am still looking for that one.

the delete pulley is around $40 if you can get a good deal.

if you have an extra heater shroud without the ac evaporator I would buy it if you could part with it....
