Car immediately dies when I start it!

This feels wierd cause I haven't posted a question for some time now, but today I tried to start the car to go to class, and the thing would start and die instantly. It didn't even seem to respond to giving it a little gas when I started it or anything. I don't know where to look here, but I need to find a solution fast...I already missed a class today. Thanks

Matt

HeHe, I am trying to hunt down a similar problem right now. Start by trying to find a loose sensor wire, or burnt plug wire. Are you getting any codes? Check to see if the distributor came loose (happened to my buddy) Good luck man, I feel your pain.

Check the MAF ducting between the MAF and the TB, look for cracks/poor sealing. May also want to try disconnecting the electrical connector on the underside of the MAF and see if she fire up.

if you can get it to run while holding the gas pedal, its your IAC. i had this problem once when i stopped to get gas, it would fire up but would die immediatly unless i had my foot on the gas.

Could be your fuel pump. My just went like that a few weeks ago. It wouldnt respond to the gas pedal being pressed either. can you hear your fuel pump run at start up? Check your relays too and fuses.

Okay, I checked a few things out yesterday. I replaced the plug for the TPS, cause it had prong not making full contact. I also tested the fuel pressure, it stayed at 47 when the car was runnging and maybe dropped to 35-40 when it died. I also tried holding the gas pedal on the floor, and it had no effect. Any other suggestions? I didn't find any vacuum leaks in any well known areas, and all connections seem to be good. Thanks

Matt
