LT1 conversion
I have an 84 Monte LS, I am presently building a 355 with 200 / 700 r4 tranny. My question is this, I just purchased an 95 LT1 intake system, I would like to know what I will be needing to complete this retro? I have access to an complete harness from an 91 Camaro. I also can get an TPI ECM from a 88 Iroc. The engine block is out of an 72 Nova. The intake unit is coming with all the ssensors except fuel rails, injectors are there. I do plan on replaing sensors as necessary. All and any advice appreciated. Thanks DL

I'm in the middle of the conversion right now, using a '95 intake also. Right now, I'd recommend studying John Millican's site: http://members.home.net/millicanga/
Some problems I've run into are here:
https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/005519.html
I've posted preliminary pics at my site until I can do a full write-up. I also have all the plates and templates drawn in AutoCad (not posted).
Search www.sethirdgen.org for more info, also.
One thing I haven't mentioned is that I've had a hard time with the intake mounting holes. Possibly due to the heads having been milled, although my TPI intake was not a problem. I've had to slot all of them to get them to fit. It's very important that the corner pairs of holes are perpendicular to the mounting plane of the intake. Had I to do it again, I would have filled ALL of the holes, including the outside ones. Then drilled them correctly.
Also, check with the ECM & PROM forums, because the '88 ECM will not work with the '91 harness without work. ('88 is a MAF system, '91 is Speed Density).
Email me if you have other ?s. Or look here for my updates. Check with John, too. (He's the man)
