can I run a xe268h with my tpi?
I just got a killer deal on a smallblock 355......... My car has a tpi 305 in it now........ I just boght a 355 with no miles, flat top forged pistons, and a brand new xe268h comp cam/lifter combo setup...... its a flat tappet hydraulic cam 224/230...477/.480 with 110 lobe seperation. Can I still run my tpi with this cam if I get a 350 memcal for my ecu, knock sensor, and 24lbs injectors?

the computer aint gonna like it but i am sure it would run just not very well. and would require alot more tuning than a wider lsa cam to get it dialed in.

Im trying to figure out if I should switch to a vac secondary elec choke demon and ditch the tpi, with ecu programming , new chip, new injectors, knock sensor, and still nothing above 5k rpm thats alot of money. Do you think itll be cheaper to switch to carb. What do you think

I bought a big xtreme energy cam for my L98. 110 LSA, TPI doesnt like it.
it wont be cheap at all and you might as well ditch the TPI and get a stealth ram. I already bought a HSR along with the cam. but you might as well get another car for driving to work because gas mileage will go down the drain.
tpi doesnt make pwr past 4800 RPM and my cam is designed for something that does.... so HSR is the way to go... BTW you need massive computer mods.... youll run too rich to compensate for the valves being open for too long........ get your ECU burned for the cam and get a different intake.... carb/hsr anything but TPI....

Im no racer, so mpg (as most of us at $4.30 a gallon) is important. Its not a daily driver, when my truck isnt broke, but I would really like to keep tpi for now and hsr later. Does anyone make custom chips for $200-250. Not a "performance chip" but custom burnt for my cam.
