Limp home mode??? (Hypercrap)
I have a Hypertech chip as well as the stock one. I like the Hypertech becuase it locks the torque converter slightly later and therefore makes it shift to OD a little less often when driving around on 40mph roads.
Whenever the Hypertech chip is in, every third day or so, the car won't start... just crank and crank until the battery dies. I know you are all gonna say injector leak down, which I think I have as well, but if I swap the chip out and put the stock one in, it starts without a problem.
I am wondering if the Hypertech chip is fried... I am under the impression that if the PROM goes bad the car will run on something called limp home mode for a few days or so to give you time to put a wokring chip in, and then it wont run anymore. Is this whats happening to me???? Any other ideas, suggestions, comments?? Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem with my hypertech chip. I gave up on it. I think it was a VATS issue.
As far as "Limp mode" goes, it sounds more like a vats problem cuz you might be in "bypass" mode.
