Fuel Pump NOT shutting off.

Anyone experience a condition when their fuel pump would not turn off while the car was not running? I.e, ignition on but not started yet. usually it pulses for a few seconds and kicks off, but I noticed today that it is
staying on.

I'm not sure if it has something to do with my MSD 6al, my adjustable fuel pressure regulator, or an electrical problem somewhere else.

yes that was only after i replaced the fuel pump relay connector because it had deteriated and i soldered on the new connector but made the mistake of connecting the red wire instead of leaving it disconnected that made the fuel pump to be constantly in prime pump mode i think the red wire is to test the fuel pump try pulling out the red wire terminal on the fuel pump relay connector then connect the relay and see if it works because for me it did.

on my car and every GM car we have had the fuel pump will stay on for like 5 seconds after the car is off.

Mine runs until the oil pressure finishes bleeding off. Maybe a clue there? The relay only runs the pump for about 2 seconds, then the oil pressure switch keeps the fuel pump running until the engine is shut off.

It could be that the contacts in the fuel pump relay, or the oil pressure switch are sticking. If it only happens w/ the key on, it may be a shorted driver in the ECM, or the MSD may be fooling the ECM that the car is running. Try unplugging the MSD, and if no change, try unplugging the ECM.
