TBI to TPI nightmare...... electrical problems
TBI to TPI nightmare...... electrical problems
I spent thousands of dollars to build a 383 with forged everything, and I put a used TPI system on top of it with the TPI computer and Harness and it will not start, the injectors are not injecting and the distributer does not create spark unless I use a dummy wire, does anyone know what could be wrong with my setup? could it be the computer? if so how can I have this checked? if not the computer what else could it be.
Also I do not have a lot of stuff hooked up like all of the emmissions accessories. Emmissions tests not required where I live. Could this be affecting the lack of power to the injectors and distributer
Someone please help.....

Try and get a FSM for your year of TPI.
There's lots of good tests. First you need to make sure you have power to the distributor. If you have that, then you need to make sure the distributor is delivering reference pulses. If it is, then the problem is in the computer or injector wiring.
The manual has extensive testing procedures for figuring out what's wrong.
