Heh, well....I attempted it. But i needed to take more time on it and use the buffing wheel. It did get shiny but needed more time to really go into detail. Hopefully that is what you were wanting to hear.

How much time did you spend on it, and any pictures as it sits now?

I polished a stock TPI throttle body while I was in the process of polishing a plenum. Follow the same instructions as mentioned in the archives for polishing. (IE wetsand, use the proper sandpaper grits to speed the process, etc) The only catch is it is a little more cumbersome to handle. The shaft/linkage was pressed on, so I left that alone. You will need to remove the IAC and TPS to avoid exposure to water and debris, so you must know how to reset your TPS. (This can be found in tech articles too) Grab you some TB gaskets to replace while the top plate and TB is off the plenum. I spent approx. three hours on mine for a decent luster. Good luck!

No, it's not the same material. It's potmetal or diecast. It's a lot softer than the alum plenum. You won't need the 80 grit or so in the first stages like the plenum needs. When I polished mine, I just used a buff on my dremel and some metal polish. It didn't come out as good as the plenum does (mirror shine) but it does look good. As was said earlier, it is time comsuming!

Sorry, no pictures here. But i will agree with it being softer and harder to get to shine. I spent about 2 or 3 hours on it.
