Hey, I have a 88 305 tpi f code motor. When it gets to about 3500 rpms it cuts out (checked spark none when it cuts out) It will start right back up. I just took the smog pump off and put in new injectors in. Seamed like it started after this. It also sends out a code 42 what to try first???

ignition modual? or maybe weak coil?

does it have no spark anywhere past around 3500? if so then i would think it is a bad ignition modual, they have a high and low RPM type function. you can have it tested at some auto parts stores

once it hits about 3000 rpm the spark is gone. I will take the modual out and have it checked.

If you get a module dont get a 20.00 wells part. My car ran like crap on the topend with the wells the stock one was better. Get a Holley or Accel module if you replace it. My car runs better all around with the Holley module. The topend was the most noticable improvement My car would cut out around 2500/3300 and miss at 5000+ rpm with the new Wells part.

hey thanks for sending me in the right direction. It was the stupidest thing! one of the prongs on the 4 prong plug on the module was bent. Fixed the plug and the car runs better then ever.
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
