Yeah, it's gotta be. That sure is a nice pic. I would love to know what his power-to-weight ratio is. From what I've seen at the track, "street legal" does not mean "driveable". I bet it's not driven daily or emissions legal like mine.

But for now, gotta catch the fastest TTA I know of first. There's a guy locally who I personally saw run an 11.15. It took 26 pounds of boost to do it though. So how much boost do you need to run low 11's?

My sig tells the story. My car weighs 3,800 pounds with me in it.

ATI D1SC (15-psig): Gotta catch them pesky 26-psig boosted TTA's!!

...almost enough to make you think twice about keeping that "lowly" V-8? Mr. Lingenfelter can make it sing for you, but he seldom gets east of Ohio.

guys, i think we're missing the fact that has amazed me the most, maybe you guys missed it, i dunno...but underneath that pic it says its a 305. Or was that a typo and meant to be a 350? please clear this up, a turbo could really shed some light on my car I might have to splice an extra 'T' inbetween G and A to make GTTA (grand turbo trans am, hehehe)

That would be almost 650 to 700hp out of that 305. How the hell do you do that on a stock intake set up? How much PSI is he running out of that turbo and how did he build a block to handle it? That is freaking amazing.

Well i don;t wana burst no bubbles. and i will admit that car is fast. but i have a "dare i mention the word" ford probe gt turbo. and i can eat a stock iroc. it's just a little 2.2L 4 banger but i'm running anywhere from 15-20 psi up from the stock 9 psi of boost off the turbo. so YES a turbo will make a WORLD of diferance on your cars.
i have seen a 2.2 turbo run a 14.234 run. at what speed i can't remember. i just happened to come to this page from a link so please don't "FLAM" me. i'm just trying to add what little advise i have on the turbo subject.
if you do a ram air intake, intercooler, and good everything eles you can have a 305 KICK SOME *** !!!
by all means i'm a chevy lover. i have a lifted truck with the good ol 502 in it. but my probe is my dialy driver and *** kicker when i need it to be.
i live at 7000 ft. so the turbo is a must.
it creats it's own atmasfear. so lower altatude doesn't help much.
good luck with your mods.
iAMDking.

I think I saw that car run about 3 years ago when I used to go to Atco a lot. I never saw it run nines, but low 10's still impressed me. I had no idea it was only a 305, I also have a hard time believing it. Last year at Numidia Stret Drags there was a guy with a bone stock black 76 Corvette. Someone told me he wound up in a Hot Rod article. Any way, this car could have gotten 100 points at a car show for factory originality. The only apparent mod was the 10-point cage. It had stock valve covers, all the stock hoses and everything. He pulled up to the water box and did a small burnout, the car sounded real quiet. He lit the prestage bulb and all of a sudden the car got loud as hell!!!! It was unreal!!! He made a tire shredding 11-something pass, and later ran a low 10. Whenever he drove back to the pits the car was quiet again. He swore it was a stock 350 (yeah right).
I crawled underneath the car and saw he had
2.5in turbo mufflers in the stock location, with cutoffs going to 4in. bullets. He later revealed the car had a 440 something small block in it with nitrous. He had all the plumbing hidden, and the bottle in a secret compartment he made. He tried to make the car look as stock as possible. The only giveaway was the cage. He said it's a blast blowing away Vipers and new corvettes with a bone stock appearing, quiet if he wants it to be car. It's the ultimate sleeper!!
I never saw the article, but I heard it was in a magazine.

No, it's really a 305. But cubic money beats cubic inches every time. He has done a lot of fabricating and a lot has gone into that car. The times tell the story.

Oh and I thnk the new commer for his comments. Please no flames towards him or his probe. He has offered some help to the question and I thank him for it.

IROCZ88, I read that article on that Vette. HotRod did a section on sleaper cars, this guy took the trophy!!! You are right, it looked stock as hell. The engine comp. picture even showed the stock exhaust manifolds. I beleive the hard part of the build up was to keep the engine quiet with the monster cam he had. The exhaust alone was a work of art.

Why not a 305, Look at how nasty fast the buick boys go. Thats only a six. God Bless Turbocharging. My dad has a GN they bad-*** . My friend has an 86 Porsche 944 turbo. It has a STOCK 2.5L four. He can kick the crap out of a super charged 12psi slicked up mustang with heads ect ect any day on radials. I've seen him do it many times. He played at the track once and only had about 11psi boost, and did a pathetic 2.9 60' time. However, he still managed a 13.6 at around 117-120!!!!! look at the MPH. That little thing hauls *** . He usually runs 20PSI. Everybody always gets him out of the hole, however mid track, he swiftly zips right past em. Nothing is better than seeing a mustang get beat down by a 4 cylinder.

I must admit, the turbo on that Porsche is upgraded. But the long block is stock. I like the picture in the begining of this sequence, There is a slicked up mustang getting beat down by a camaro, Will somebody make a poster of that!!

This guy has a book out called "how to run 11's in 3rd gen camaros" or something like that, it's in Jegs. The car was in a bunch of Magazines (hot rod, car craft etc) when he was still running 11's with a supercharger. The car is unreal, especially with a 305 and the guy is a total plethora of knowledge!

That looks like an Electromotive TEC-II engine management system. Those are coil packs you see on the firewall that replace the stock distributor...pretty cool.

I seen that car at e-town a few months ago and it was running high 9's, and i think it ran 1 low 10 and you would never know it, the car is very quiet for a 9 second car. that car is just insane, and it has the cleanest engine bay Ive ever seen.
