that ribbed boot from behind the maf to the front of the t-body looks very restrictive. did they ever create something smooth for that. did anybody ever fabricate one just curious?

 

i don`t know if anyone did, but it has to be flexible because the engine moves under load and the intake track doesn`t, i know you can buy a K&N cone filter and get rid of the intake system up to the throttle body all togher.

 

Unless, like the OP stated, you have a Mass Airflow Sensor. I personally have never seen a replacement elbow that was smooth, outside of what would come in a supercharger package. But I wouldn't doubt that someone has had the ingenuity to come up with one. I can sense another debate about throttle body filter vs. cold-air package getting ready to begin right.....about....now...... .
