What problems will i have if I decide to do this? Will i have to reinstall any sensors? Just curious, FAQ sectionhere on thirdgen.org says to do it, but doesn't list any problems that may occur.

 

You want to port it? Or are you talking about something else? Did you see my sticky at the top "Our quest for a better flowing TPI" ?? That shows how we welded and ported an Edelbrock TPI intake to flow 50 more cfm and make 1000 more RPMs of power.

 

Are you talking about a stock tpi? The stock runners are too thin to do anything with. The stock base also will not take enough boring to do you any real good and you risk going through the casting. The stock plenum has enough "meat" to be able to be modded to port match an after market large base and runners.

 

i WAS THINKING ABOUT BORING OUT MY tpi @ THE THROTTLE BODY WHERE THE AIR FILTER IS ATTATCHED, THE TECH FAQ SECTION HERE SAYS THAT THERE ARE TWO METAL FLAPS INSIDE SHROUDING SOME SENSORS AND THAT YOU CAN SHAVE THEM DOWN WITH A DREMMEL TOOL AND INCREASE AIRFLOW. TOTALLY STOCK TPI INTAKE, JUST HAVE A K & N FILTER ON IT CURRENTLY.

 

Oh, you're talking about grinding down the EGR walls just behind the throttle body. Yes you can do that. Do a for "plenum egr walls" to find out more from other people who have done it.
