What's The Best Fuel System Cleaner?

Well guys I know fuel system cleaner is a cheap fix for actually scrubbing everything down and removing the injectors and replacing/cleaning them.

But I would like to know, in the TGO goers experience what is the best all around fuel additive cleaner for cleaning up the injectors and removing carbon deposits from valves and cylinders?

I heard Lucas was good so thats what I used on my old engine before it took a crap. My dad used gunk out (I think) in his blazer and swears by it. From what I've read seafoam is bad for fuel injected engines and just a bad idea all around because It's water based.

I'm not in a hurry to dump product after product into my engine to see which one works the best. So what do you guys recommend?

BTW this an 85 LB9 we're talking about

I don't know how really effective pour in the tank kind of cleaners are, but I hear a lot of good things about Gumout Regane (in the clear bottle) on www.bobistheoilguy.com forum.

If you still have the factory injectors any cleaner will do more harm than good. The wires inside the injectors are exposed to the fuel, and the cleaner eats away at the wires. This sometimes causes the injectors to short.

I've heard that but never experienced it.

I use Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner. Black bottle.

BG 44k. The guys at the Chevy dealer and the local Corvette and High Performance shop swear by it.

It smoothed out the idle a little on my buddies 94 K1500 TBI 350. For my Camaro the previous owner replaced 3 injectors and not the rest. So after I ran a can through the system it developed a really rough but regular idle. So it turns out it is probably another injector that is shot. So if anything the cleaner could of just finished off an already weak injector.

So if you loose an injector because of cleaner, chances are they were already due for replacement.
