'87 TPI Sputtering when in gear, but runs good in park!
Hello I recently bought a '87 305 TPI Trans Am. When i first start the car it runs great, revs awesome and idles smooth. Then when in gear, It will take off sluggish, then will begin to completly die out before it gets a mile down the road and wont rise above 1200rpm without sputtering/backfiring and acting like its trying to shift gears but doesnt have enough power. I know it could be alot of little things causing this, is there anything very common that could cause this? the service engine light is on. ive had a 02 T/A and a 99 WS6 but never delt with this...thanks for your time!
