Fuel Pump Sending Units

I need to replace my fuel pump sending unit and i was wondering if anyone knew what other sending units may be compatible or identical with an 89 GTA 5.7 TPI.

Re: Fuel Pump Sending Units

Are you replacing it because there's a problem with determining the correct fuel level in the tank? If so you can probably fix it yourself easily simply by taking apart the sender float level and cleaning it with a squirt of degreaser and CRC. Although I think you don't have CRC there so perhaps WD40 would be more appropriate. The reason this works if because of additives they put in the petrol. It worked for me.

No i have to replace it because where one of the lines go into the unit has a crack and its spraying fuel. Also where the electrical plug goes into the unit, it wont stay and seal 100% because the push washer clip doesnt hold it tight anymore. I tried replacing the push washer but the plug is so chewed up from the previous clip being pulled off that a smaller push washer wont hold it in place either. Maybe someone knows where i can get a new electrical plug part that goes into the top of the assembly.

Oh I see. Sorry that I can't help any further, but if you have to buy another sender I think Rock Auto have them the cheapest

So far best i can find is from rock auto or else advanced auto for $180. Anyone have any ideas or where to get the electrical connector that goes to the sending unit. Id love to just replace it and be done with it.
