new to tpi, have a lot of questions, and new project

Just a warning Ive got sum stupid questions so please bare with me...
Ok so I just bought my next project. It is a 85 camaro iroc z28. It is a roller with no motor or trany. The car came orignal 350 tpi and automatic trany.
Im new to tpi and have searched around this site but still have questions.
Can someone post a link of an explaination of how tpi works? like the 9th injector thing?

My plan is to buy a complete tpi 350 and rebuild with high comp pistons and mild cam. I cant afford aftermarket heads so I will be reusing stock heads. And get a automatic trany with prbly 2800-3200 stall converter.
here are some pics:

questions:
what kind of auto tranny came stock in 85 iroc, and does it use a TV cable?
Can I use vortec heads off a truck with the stock intake?
how can I ID a 350 vs 305 when buying a motor?

what is this cable in the pic:::::????

and last any idea what these wires are? the run up to the colum sum where

THANKS FOR THE HELP
This is gona take sum time but I want it running full bore by the summer.
thanks agian
kyle

You cannot use vortec heads with the stock intake manifold. You would need to buy a vortec TPI intake manifold from Edelbrock or Scoggin-Dickey.
