LT1 sticky throttle?
I have a question for you EFI guys, as I'm still a bit new to my LT1.
From time to time, my LT1 will have an intermittent sticky throttle. Let off the throttle from a steady cruise and it will not always drop all the way back down to idle, it'll stick at maybe 1500 or so, sometimes higher, sometimes lower - usually whatever RPM i was cruising at. I can then give the throttle a quick tap and it will usually drop back down to a normal idle.
The really weird part, is that it only does this AFTER its been run for awhile and its good and warm, and then shut off. If I let it sit for 5-10 minutes afters its been run for awhile and its all warmed up, thats when it will start doing this. I can start it cold, drive it all day, and it won't have this problem. It only starts acting up after its been shut off and restarted hot.
I've tried cleaning out the throttle body, cleaning all the linkages, checked for any binding in the throttle cable, checked the return spring, removed and cleaned the IAC, and nothing really seemed conclusive. Mechnically everything seems ok, and cleaning the TB and IAC didn't really do anything.
This is a '97 OBD-II LT1 from a '97 Z28 w/ T56, cruise, trac control, and A/C if that makes any difference to you guys. All stock so far, no mods.
Please help, I've been dealing with this for over a year, and its really annoying
